TSA selects Smiths Detection handheld explosives detection systems

PINE BROOK, N.J., 13 March 2009. Smiths Detection won a $2 million order from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for SABRE 4000 handheld trace explosives detectors. The lightweight systems can detect trace amounts of substances from either particle or vapor samples.

PINE BROOK, N.J., 13 March 2009. Smiths Detection won a $2 million order from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for SABRE 4000 handheld trace explosives detectors. The lightweight systems can detect trace amounts of substances from either particle or vapor samples.

Currently, TSA is using more than 4,500 Smiths Detection desktop trace detectors at airport security checkpoints across the nation.
