Alion to acquire certain assets of Anteon business unit

MCLEAN, Va., 8 June 2006. Alion Science and Technology has signed an agreement to purchase certain assets of Anteon Corporation's program management and engineering services business. The business unit, having roughly 900 employees, provides technical and operational support to the Department of Defense (DOD), in particular the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. The acquisition is expected to be completed by June 30, 2006.

Included in the asset acquisition are several critical DOD contracts, including:

-- Multiple Navy projects under NAVSEA SeaPort MAC and SeaPort-E MAC

-- SAFTAS (Air Force Single Award Contract)

-- Other customers/contracts, including ONR, SPAWAR, and ASN RDA
