SPD Electrical Systems' Shock Hardened Magnum Circuit Breaker meets U.S. Navy requirements

NEW YORK, N.Y., 7 April 2006. L-3 Communications has announced that its SPD Electrical Systems (SPD) subsidiary, a unit of the company's Power and Control Systems Group, has been granted listing on the U.S. Navy's Qualified Products List (QPL) for its Shock Hardened Magnum Circuit Breaker. This circuit breaker, identified as the ACB-2012, underwent design modifications and testing to U.S. Navy standards, which it recently passed.

NEW YORK, N.Y., 7 April 2006. This circuit breaker, identified as the ACB-2012, underwent design modifications and testing to U.S. Navy standards, which it recently passed.

"We hope to see new ships, such as the LHA-6, immediately embrace the ACB-2012." says Jay Wilcox, president of SPD. "The new aircraft carrier, CVN-78, has also identified needs for a 450V, 2,000A shock hardened breaker."

Located in Philadelphia, SPD Electrical Systems is a supplier of shock-hardened circuit breakers and switchgear used aboard U.S. Navy vessels.
