TEWKSBURY, Mass., 8 Feb. 2006. Raytheon Company has been awarded a $60 million one-year extension to a direct sale contract from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide technical, training and logistics support for the Kingdom's Patriot and Hawk air defense systems.
Patriot is an air and missile defense system capable of simultaneously engaging and destroying aircraft, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and tactical ballistic missiles. "Raytheon has built a strong relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the past 40 years and is committed to providing services and equipment of the highest standards to the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces," said Otis Hopkins, director of operations of Saudi Arabian Programs for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.
