American Science and Engineering gains order for security screening systems

BILLERICA, Mass., 28 Sept. 2007. American Science and Engineering (AS&E), a leader in X-ray detection technology, won a $4 million contract for multiple Z Backscatter Vans and SmartCheck Personnel Screening Systems from a new African Customer. Two of the ZBVs will be equipped with Forwardscatter capability, and all of the systems include service and maintenance training, and extended warranty.

"This new African client has responded to AS&E's full-range of product offerings and the benefits of our signature technology, Z Backscatter," says Anthony Fabiano, president and CEO. "This customer will utilize their ZBVs and SmartCheck systems at strategic locations to enhance their checkpoint security. These systems will provide comprehensive detection to secure high-threat facilities from a broad range of threats."
