EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 9 June 2007.Aura Systems Inc. will participate in the Army's Expedited Modernization Initiative Procedure (EMIP) process to be held in Warren, Mich., July 23 through 26. Aura will be demonstrating its Viper mobile power system integrated into a military vehicle. The Viper is the military designation for Aura's AuraGen mobile power system.
The EMIP process is part of the Army's Tactical Wheeled Vehicle Transformational Strategy. It is designed to improve the current and future Tactical Wheeled Vehicles (TWV) fleet by identifying and leveraging industry investments in advance technologies.
The EMIP process will mainly address those component technologies that can be available for production within 6 months of completion of verification testing.
Gagerman, Aura's CEO, says, "We are very pleased to have been selected after the review of our AuraGen/Viper Technical Application Idea (TAI) submissions. In 2006, the EMIP program had successfully conducted 58 demos at TACOM. We will be demonstrating the VIPER capabilities on a military HMMWV vehicle. Our demonstration will focus on the advance performance capabilities of the VIPER that include both AC and DC power as well as silent watch, and very large power spike generating capability. We will focus on the system's safety, reliability, maintainability and mission enhancements to the published life cycle challenges faced by many of the Army's vehicles. A number of companies will use our platform to demonstrate their products which cannot be used without the AC power provided by the VIPER."
Mr. Gagerman added, "Our participation with the EMIP is part of our strategy to create awareness across all military and government agencies as to the VIPER's superior performance with reduced weight and its ability to be readily integrated into many different platforms at a very competitive cost. In addition for the first time, the military and other government agencies will have capabilities that were not available in the past.
