Elbit to supply Elop electro-optical payloads for attack and utility helicopters

HAIFA, Israel, 20 July 2007. Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that its subsidiary Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd. ("Elop") won a $37 million contract from a foreign customer to supply electro-optical (EO) payloads for attack and utility helicopters.

HAIFA, Israel, 20 July 2007.Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that its subsidiary Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd. ("Elop") won a $37 million contract from a foreign customer to supply electro-optical (EO) payloads for attack and utility helicopters.

The system is the latest generation of Elop's Compact Multi Purpose Advanced Stabilized System (CoMPASS) digital targeting and surveillance payload. It has EO sensors, including a diode pumped laser designator and a long-range zoom FLIR.

CoMPASS is for aircraft, ships, and land vehicles. Hundreds of CoMPASS systems have been delivered worldwide.
