CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., 7 July 2007.VDC Display Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Video Display Corporation, has won an SBIR Phase I study for the evaluation and potential development of a "Deployable, Intelligent Projector System for Training" by the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division.

VDC Display Systems President, Marcial Vidal, stated, "The Phase I award from the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division will allow VDC Display Systems to continue our research and design process, which originated back in 2003, and to advance the company's concept for an intelligent system capable of automatic and continuous monitoring and correction of the geometry and color parameters necessary to a high quality, multi-projector display such as those used in immersive environments."

The resulting technology has the potential of being used in high-resolution deployable trainers for application directly in the theater of operations for mission critical field training.
