Mark Hawthornthwaite

Software Architect

Mark Hawthornthwaite is a Software Architect at Presagis and is responsible for HMI software development and DO-178B certification. With a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Leeds University in the UK, Mark began his career with British Aerospace developing safety-critical airborne software in ADA on the Eurofighter project. After moving to Canada in 1998, Mark began working for Engenuity Technologies—now Presagis—as a software developer on existing code generation products. His tenure at Engenuity has included leading the DO-178B Level A VAPS QCG (qualifiable code generator) project from initial inception through to delivery as well as leading the team that developed the new VAPS XT toolset, including the ARINC 661 and VAPS XT-178 tools that are based on the VAPS XT architecture.
