X-ES unveils conduction-cooled 3U VPX Ethernet switch

VERONA, Wis. - Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) in Verona, Wis., has released the XChange3050 3U VPX 100 Gigabit Ethernet switch with Layer 2 switching and optional Layer 3 routing for high-performance embedded computing and rugged defense applications.

The XChange3050 is a conduction-cooled 3U VPX Ethernet switch module. The XChange3050 provides six backplane 100GBASE-KR4 Ethernet ports, six backplane 25GBASE-KR Ethernet ports, two backplane 10GBASE-T Ethernet ports, and an optional front panel optical Ethernet port.

The XChange3050 delivers full wire-speed across all of its ports and supports jumbo frames up to 10 kB. It also supports IPv6 and a comprehensive set of IETF RFCs and IEEE protocols.

As a fully managed Layer 2 switch, the XChange3050 supports features such as VLANs (IEEE 802.1Q), LACP, STP, RSTP, PVRST, MSTP, SNMP, flow control, port mirroring, port authentication (IEEE 802.1x), Quality of Service (QoS), ACL, IGMP, and LLDP.

The XChange3050 can also optionally host an XChange6300 Cisco IOS-XE Gigabit Ethernet Embedded Services Router, enabling Layer 3 routing capabilities within the same module.

The XChange3050 is SOSA-aligned to AMPS profiles MODA3-16.4.16-1-F2C-(6E18/24E15)-(5E15,1E6-E6)<N-E17/E11-N-N> and MODA3-16.4.16-1-F2C-(6E18/24E15)-(6E15,1E6-E6)<N-N-N-N>. Contact the factory for other supported AMPS profiles.
