Acromag introduces QMC350 analog input mezzanine module for high-density embedded systems
WIXOM, Mich. - Acromag in Wixom, Mich., is offering the QMC350 Series analog input module, a VITA 93-compliant QMC (QMC mezzanine card) designed to provide high-channel-count data acquisition and signal processing capabilities for embedded computing systems used in aerospace, defense, industrial, and laboratory applications. The module provides 20 analog input channels with simultaneous-sampling 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion at rates up to 1 million samples per second (1 MSPS) per channel.
The QMC350 connects to host systems through a PCI Express interface and is intended for deployment on a variety of carrier card architectures, including VPX, CompactPCI, VNX+, and PCIe expansion platforms. The module follows the VITA 93 small form factor mezzanine standard, which enables high-density I/O integration in size-, weight-, power-, and cost-constrained systems.
Each of the 20 input channels features its own dedicated 16-bit ADC, allowing simultaneous sampling across all channels. Software-selectable input configurations support a range of unipolar and bipolar voltage options for both single-ended and differential measurements. Flexible digital filtering and software-based calibration of gain, offset, and phase are intended to improve measurement accuracy.
The module offers selectable bandwidth options of 25 kHz or 220 kHz and supports per-channel configuration and updating. Input protection features include ±21-volt input clamping and 1-megaohm input impedance on all channels. Calibration coefficients are stored onboard to support repeatable performance.
Acromag says the compact QMC form factor measures 26 by 78.25 millimeters, less than one-quarter the size of traditional PMC/XMC modules. The reduced footprint enables system designers to combine multiple I/O and signal processing functions on a single carrier card to increase channel density while meeting SWaP-C requirements.
The QMC350 is available in both air-cooled and conduction-cooled versions and supports extended operating temperatures for deployment in harsh environments. An Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) provides access to module information and sensor data through an onboard EEPROM and I2C interface for system monitoring and management.
