SiC Schottky diodes for industrial power electronics applications introduced by Richardson Electronics

Nov. 20, 2020
These Schottky diodes provide switching speed, fast body diode, high-temperature operation, and ruggedness in industrial applications.

LaFOX, Ill. – Electronics distributor Richardson Electronics Ltd. in LaFox, Ill., is introducing silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky diodes from UnitedSiC in Princeton, N.J., now with low VF-Qc for fast switching applications.

The SiC Schottky diodes provide switching speed, fast body diode, high-temperature operation, low RDS(ON), and ruggedness. Typical applications include fast-charge electric vehicle charging access points, industrial motor drives, and solar energy inverters.

Key features of these power electronics devices are a 25-amp-rated option for the 1700-volt device; 10-amp-, 20-amp-, and 50-amp-rated options for the 1200-volt device; more than 8.8 millimeters of clearance between anode and cathode; low VF-Qc for fast switching applications; and surge current capability.
