VAN NUYS, Calif. – Moticont in Van Nuys, Calif., is introducing the VCM-013-008-02M miniature metric linear voice coil motor for laser beam steering and filtering, wafer handling, vibration damping, work holding and clamping, laser machining and drilling, assembly, sorting, packaging, sampling, and pharmaceutical applications.

The motor measures 0.5 inches long at mid length, 0.5 inches in diameter, and has a stroke length of 0.125 inches. It has a continuous force of 3.1 ounces and a peak force of 9.8 ounces.

This clean brushless DC linear servo motor offers high acceleration and deceleration and low inertia. When operated as a DC servo motor in a closed servo loop using a position sensor the LVCM-013-008-02M miniature linear servo motor offers accuracy and repeatability.

The LVCM-013-008-02M voice coil motor for motion control has a M3x0.5 threaded mounting hole in the housing and M3x0.5 threaded mounting hole in the coil end for integration into new and existing applications. A complete plug-and-play system and servo controller also is available.
