Designers at Space Electronics Inc. in San Diego are offering a new family of radiation-hardened power MOSFETs that provide a total dose survivability of greater than 100 kilorads for satellites, manned spacecraft, and deep space probes. These devices feature fast switching, low on-state resistance, voltage control, freedom from second breakdown, ease of paralleling, and temperature stability in electrical parameters. Engineers are using the company`s Rad-Pak packaging with commercial integrated circuits to achieve performance equivalent to custom radiation hardening, Space Electronics officials say. Rad Pak uses radiation shielding in the microcircuit package. For more information, phone Space Electronics at 619-452-5499. - J.K.
