Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum continues today with ITAR issues panel

SAN DIEGO, 12 March 2008. A panel discussion on International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other export issues is on today's agenda as the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum (MAEF) conference and trade show continues at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

SAN DIEGO, 12 March 2008. A panel discussion on International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other export issues is on today's agenda as the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum (MAEF) conference and trade show continues at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego.

The panel discussion on ITAR and export issues begins at 10:30 a.m. The panel moderator is Alan Dietrich, president of the DRS Intelligence Strategic Business Unit.

Panelists include Kay Georgi, Partner in the Arent Fox LLP law firm, Karen Jones, director, export import operations for Raytheon Missile Systems, and Dean Young, facilities officer for Celestica Aerospace Technologies.

Other discussions on tap today at the MAEF include a session on information assurance, moderated by Glen Logan, senior systems engineer at American Systems. This session deals with securing information from the top general down to the individual soldier.

The conference concludes today with a session on electronic power and thermal-management issues, featuring speakers Bob Staub of Micro Power Electronics Inc.; Novis Smith of LithChem International; James Robles of the Boeing Co.; Marc Couture of Mercury Computer Systems; and Gerald Janicki of Meggitt Defense Systems Inc.

An exhibit hall of more than 60 military and aerospace electronics companies is a highlight of the show. There is no charge to drop by the San Diego Convention Center to walk the exhibit floor.
