L-3 to support NASA Astronaut training

NEW YORK, 19 June 2008. L-3 Communications won a five-year, $49 million cost plus fixed fee contract by NASA's Johnson Space Center to provide space systems domain expertise to enhance space training for NASA engineers and astronauts. Under this new contract, L-3 Enterprise IT Solutions will provide space systems domain expertise in robotics; dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; avionics; electrical power systems; and ground systems technologies.

NEW YORK, 19 June 2008.L-3 Communications won a five-year, $49 million cost plus fixed fee contract by NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) to provide space systems domain expertise to enhance space training for NASA engineers and astronauts. Under this new contract, known as Simulation and Software Technology (SST), Reston, Va.-based L-3 Enterprise IT Solutions (L-3 EITS) will provide space systems domain expertise in robotics; dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; avionics; electrical power systems; and ground systems technologies.

L-3 Enterprise IT Solutions (EITS) is the Information Technology Center of Excellence in L-3. The IT services provided by EITS are focused on IT infrastructure management and operations support, systems integration and development, business assurance, and independent verification and validation (IV&V).
