BLACKSBURG, Va., 10 Nov. 2010. VPT Inc. in Blacksburg, Va., is introducing the DVPL0503S point of load (POL) DC-DC converter for distributed power applications in avionics, military, and space systems. The 3-amp DVPL DC-DC POL converter is a non-isolated, synchronous, buck regulated converter that steps down the voltage at the point of end use.

BLACKSBURG, Va., 10 Nov. 2010. VPT Inc. in Blacksburg, Va., is introducing the DVPL0503S point of load (POL) DC-DC converter power electronics device for distributed power applications in avionics, military, and space systems.

The 3-amp DVPL DC-DC POL converter is a non-isolated, synchronous, buck regulated converter that steps down the voltage at the point of end use.

The DVPL0503S is designed to MIL-PRF-38534; has a 3-amp (10-Watt) power output; adjustable output voltage from 0.8 to 3.4 volts; operates from 5 volts nominal input; as much as 92 percent efficiency; measures 0.7 by 0.7 by 0.27 inches; operates in the full military and avionics temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius; has a fault-tolerant design with no optoisolators; output inhibit control ; low output noise ; over current and short circuit protection; meets MIL-STD-461C and MIL-STD-461D EMC requirements when used with VPT DC-DC converters and EMI filters; and is screened to MIL-PRF-38534 Class H.
