SAN DIEGO, 27 March 2007. Lambda in San Diego is expanding its NV family of configurable AC-DC power supplies with the NV-300 series that can supply 300 Watts. The power supplies are for high-density medical, data communications, and test-and-measurement equipment (see related story).
Units measure 3.75 by 7.25 by 1.34 inches to make them compatible with 1U enclosures. The devices also can provide as many as four regulated outputs, with a 5- or 12-volt standby output optional. Available at time of introduction are output voltages from 1.8 to 24 volts, with currents as strong as 40 amps. No minimum load current is required on any output.
Input voltage ranges from 90 to 265 volts AC at 45-63 Hz with active power factor correction.
The series meets EN55022 Level B conducted emissions standards with an earth leakage current of 257 microamps, assisted by a patent-pending noise-canceling transformer. In addition, the supplies have IEC/UL/EN60601-1 medical approvals, as well as IEC/EN61010-1 and IEC/UL/EN60950-1 approvals, and carry the CE mark.
