Electro Energy supplies batteries for U.S. Army aircraft

DANBURY, Conn., 1 August 2007. The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded Electro Energy Inc., a provider of advanced battery technologies and associated systems, a competitive contract for the manufacture and delivery of batteries for the U.S. Army Kiowa helicopter.

DANBURY, Conn., 1 August 2007. The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded Electro Energy Inc., a provider of advanced battery technologies and associated systems, a competitive contract for the manufacture and delivery of batteries for the U.S. Army Kiowa helicopter.

"The company has a long history of providing batteries to the U.S. Armed Services in various applications," says Michael E. Reed, Electro Energy's president and CEO. "This contract exemplifies the Electro Energy battery technology used in the U.S. Army's military helicopters which require highly durable and reliable batteries to meet the most difficult mission and battlefield requirements."

In addition to the newly awarded contract on the Kiowa helicopter, Electro Energy's manufacturing facility in Colorado Springs has a history of providing battery applications for military aircraft, including the B-1 Bomber, B-2 Stealth Bomber, B-52 Heavy Bomber, Apache Helicopter, and the Cobra Attack Helicopter.
