RALEIGH, N.C. – The Micro-Measurements brand of Vishay Precision Group Inc. in Raleigh, N.C., is introducing miniature, lightweight hybrid pressure sensors for force, displacement, strain, and acceleration measurements in high-volume OEM and test applications.

Micro-Measurements hybrid sensor blend the company's precision foil strain gages, adhesively bonded to flat substrates, constructed of either metal, composite, or polymer.

The result is a family of strain-gage based hybrid sensors with consistent batch-to-batch performance characteristics. Users may incorporate an optional miniature signal amplifier as a stand-alone component or attached to the sensor.

Systems designers may attach hybrid sensors via mounting holes with screws, spot welding, or clamping. The hybrid sensors are available with pre-attached lead wires and connectors.

Hybrid sensors can support a variety of high-volume OEM industrial, consumer product, process control, automotive testing, non-critical medical device, and educational research. Process control applications include HVAC, liquid-level sensing, motor control, and vibration monitoring.

Industrial applications include elevators, tank monitoring, bearing insertion, safety systems, gas and liquid cylinder pressures, and load monitoring. For more information contact Vishay Micro-Measurements online at www.micro-measurements.com.
