High-reliability Glenair power and data connectors for military and aerospace applications offered by Powell
LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Electronics distributor Powell Electronics Inc. in Logan Township, N.J., is offering series 806 military and aerospace connectors from Glenair Inc. in Glendale, Calif., for commercial and military aerospace, industrial robotics, and transportation systems.
The series 806 connectors are for use in harsh vibration, shock, and environmental settings, as well as high-altitude, unpressurized aircraft zones with aggressive voltage ratings and altitude immersion standards.
These data and power connectors feature durable mechanical insert retention, radial seals and triple-ripple grommet seals. The reduced thread pitch and re-engineered ratchet prevents decoupling problems.
Glenair series high-reliability connectors feature size 22HD and 20HD contacts as well as size 8 power and high speed El Ochito, quadrax, and fiber optic options.
The devices offer as many as twice the number of contacts with no reduction in performance. Independent laboratory testing show the connectors meet the requirements of the MIL-DTL-38999 specification.
A "top hat" insulator with raised bosses ensures alignment of insulator cavities. An O-ring radial interface sealing design instead of a flat gasket allows for easier metal-to-metal coupling, improved sealing, and better EMI performance.
