ITG Electronics adds 300VAC nanocrystalline common-mode chokes
OSSINING, N.Y. - ITG Electronics has introduced its C201371B series of 300-volt-AC (VAC) nanocrystalline common-mode chokes for electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering in power electronics.
The components increase the rated voltage from 250 VAC in the earlier C201371A series to 300 VAC. ITG also specifies dielectric strength of 2,100 volts RMS, compared with 1,500 volts RMS for the predecessor series, and an operating temperature range of -55 to +125 degrees Celsius, extended from the earlier series' -40 to +125 degrees Celsius.
The C201371B series uses nanocrystalline magnetic cores, whose high permeability enables designers to achieve a given inductance with fewer winding turns than some conventional designs. ITG says the resulting components can reduce direct-current resistance (DCR) and deliver 30 to 60 percent space and weight savings compared with ferrite-based alternatives.
The through-hole components offer inductance values from 0.4 to 11 millihenries, DCR from 20 to 380 milliohms, and maximum current ratings from 0.9 to 4.5 amperes, depending on the model. The chokes are intended for AC-to-DC converters and other power supplies requiring common-mode noise suppression in industrial, automotive, commercial, and consumer electronics.
ITG Electronics, based in Ossining, N.Y., manufactures magnetic components and EMI filters.
