The Military & Aerospace Electronics take:
6 Aug. 2019 -- The Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems segment in El Segundo, Calif., will produce 15 prototype Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) mid-band engineering and manufacturing development pods for the Navy for the EA-18G Growler EW aircraft.
The pods will replace the Navy's ALQ-99 EW system. The NGJ-MB is a high-capacity and high-power airborne electronic attack weapon system to protect air forces by denying, degrading and disrupting threat radars and communication devices, Raytheon officials say.
The new RF jammer is designed to integrate with current EA-18G electronic attack technology, and features open architecture for future upgrades.
