ITT to supply Air Force with air surveillance radar system

VAN NUYS, Calif., 28 Nov. 2005. The ITT Industries Gilfillan Radar Group in Van Nuys, Calif. won a $6.2 million contract Nov. 22 contract to provide an airport surveillance radar/secondary surveillance radar system.

VAN NUYS, Calif., 28 Nov. 2005. The ITT Industries Gilfillan Radar Group in Van Nuys, Calif. won a $6.2 million contract Nov. 22 contract to provide an airport surveillance radar/secondary surveillance radar system.

The radar system consists of tactical air surveillance radar subsystem, a power subsystem, an air traffic control center subsystem, a control tower system; installation, checkout and acceptance; site survey, training, and flight test.

The system components and services are for the Royal Air Force of the Sultanate of Oman, under foreign military sales case MU-D-DAB. Work will be complete by this month.

Awarding the contract was the Network Centric Operations/Integration Systems Wing of the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. The contract number is FA8730-05-C-0005.
