Half-brick DC-DC converters for military, mobile, and industrial uses introduced by Calex
CONCORD, Calif., 7 Dec. 2014. Calex Mfg. Co. Inc. in Concord, Calif., is introducing the 500-Watt MXW series of wide input, high efficiency half brick DC-DC converters for military, mobile, and industrial applications.
The MXW power electronics device provides power density in a 9-to-36-volt DC input range half brick DC-DC. Input to output isolation for the MXW is 2250 volts DC, while efficiency runs as high as 94 percent.
The MXW offers regulated output voltages of 12 and 24 volts, and operates at 12 and 24 volts DC for mobile applications, 24 volts DC for industrial applications, and 28 volts DC for COTS military applications.
The MXW offers ON/OFF with an idle current of only 2 milliamps in the OFF state. The MXW also has output voltage trim with a trim range of plus-or-minus 10 percent. The switching frequency of the MXW is fixed at 200 kHz.
The MXW will regulate the output voltage down to a no-load condition. There is no minimum load required. The output voltage setpoint accuracy is plus-or-minus 1.5 percent with zero turn-on overshoot. The temperature coefficient of the MXW is 0.015 percent/C. Line and load regulation is 0.5 percent and 0.08 percent respectively.
The MXW is protected with over current, short circuit and over temperature protection with auto restart. The case operating temperature range is -40 to 100 degrees Celsius. Storage temperature is -55 to 125 C.
The unit weight is 109.2 grams and case dimensions are 2.4 by 2.5 by 0.5 inches. For more information contact Calex online at www.calex.com.
