CARSON, Calif., 10 April 2009. Ducommun Technologies Inc. (DTI) in Carson, Calif., is introducing an E-band radio link RF subsystem that operates from 71 to 86 GHz for virtual fiber local loop applications for wireless RF transmission of data, voice, and video at 1 to 10 gigabit-per-second speed.

The RF subsystem includes two transceiver blocks -- one that transmits at 71 to 76 GHz and receives at 81 to 86 GHz, and another that works at the opposite frequency ranges.

Each block has transmitter (TX), receiver (RX), local oscillator (LO) chain, and phase locked dielectric resonator oscillator (PLDRO) modules.

The typical performance of the transmitter includes a 29 dB conversion gain and a 15 dBm output one dB compression point (P1dB), with an open gain control loop. The receiver has 29 dB of conversion gain and 9 dB of noise figure. The typical power consumption for one block is about 6.8 Watts
