SAN DIEGO – TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the CSS65A series of AC-DC power supplies for communications, broadcast, process control, test and measurement, and medical applications.
The TDK Lambda CSS65A has an off-load power consumption of less than 75 milliwatts, and comes packaged in an industry-standard 2-by-4-inch footprint with a height of 1.08 inches.
The CSS65A accepts a 90-to-264-volt AC input and is available with 5-, 12-, 15-, 19-, 24-, 28-, 48-, and 54-volt outputs. The output power level is 40 Watts for the 5-volt output and 65 Watts for the 12-to-54-volt outputs. Remote sense is included, enabling the power supplies to compensate for load cable voltage drops.
A choice of Molex or JST connectors is available for the input and output connectors. Average efficiency is 89 percent (86 percent for the 5-volt model) and the units can operate at full load in ambient temperatures to 50 degrees Celsius, and deliver as much as 50 percent load at 70 C without the need for external airflow. Leakage current is less than 100 microamps at 264 volts AC at 63 Hz.

The power supply has 4 kilovolts AC input to output (2 x MoPPs), 1.5 kilovolts AC (1 x MoPP) input to ground and 1.5 kilovolts AC (1 x MoPP) output to ground isolation.
All models are certified to ANSI / AAMI ES 60601-1, IEC / EN 60601-1, UL / CSA / IEC / EN 60950-1 and carry the CE mark for the low voltage and RoHS2 Directives. The CSS65A models comply with EN 55011-B and FCC-B conducted and radiated emissions, and meets the IEC 61000-3-2 harmonics, IEC 61000-4 and EN 60601-1-2 4th edition immunity standards.
