FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – KYOCERA AVX Components Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing the CP2816 series integrated thin film (ITF) high-directivity couplers for high-frequency wireless systems.

The small high-power couplers are compatible with very- and ultra-high-frequency (VHF and UHF) RF and microwave bands, feature a rugged, compact, and low-profile 2816 (7x4mm) case, and exhibit 20 Watts continuous power handling, 50-Ohm impedance, high-frequency performance from 225 to 750 MHz, and operate in temperatures from -40 to 105 degrees Celsius.

The high-reliability couplers also exhibit a tight coupling factor over the frequency range (-10±1.2dB, -10±2dB, -15±2dB, and -15±4dB), low insertion loss extending from less than -0.8 decibels to less than -0.9 decibels, a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.3, and -14 decibels directivity.

Additional benefits of these RF couplers include high temperature stability, high lot-to-lot and part-to-part reliability, and repeatable RF performance.

High-frequency wireless

The CP2816 series also enables quick adjustments to RF parameters and are for use in high-frequency wireless applications in telecommunications, commercial aerospace, military, and automotive applications, including active antennas, base stations, emergency systems, mobile tactical radios, VHF and UHF radios, radar systems, and test equipment.

The CP2816 series ITF high-directivity couplers feature nickel land grid array (LGA) terminations equipped with a lead-free solder coating that's compatible with automated or manual soldering processes include reflow, wave, and vapor phase.

The couplers also are RoHS compliant, compatible with IATF 16949, manufactured in an ISO-9001 facility, and packaged on tape and reel for reliable assembly. For more information contact KYOCERA AVX online at www.kyocera-avx.com/news/cp2816-series-high-directivity-couplers/.
