CARRIÈRES-SUR-SEINE, France – SBG Systems in Carrières-Sur-Seine, France, is introducing the Pulse-40 tactical-grade inertial measurement unit (IMU) for compact antenna or camera stabilization applications that must operate in harsh conditions.

The Pulse-40 offers six degrees of freedom, and integrates micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) three axes accelerometers and gyroscopes in a design that shrinks system size while pushing performance levels.

The Pulse-40 features gyro and accelerometer bias instability of 0.8 degrees per hour and six micro-Gs respectively, enabling long dead reckoning and maintaining heading performance in antenna and camera stabilization.

The Pulse-40 has been designed with a drastic selection of sensors featuring extremely low vibration rectification error (VRE), and can sustain high vibration environments 10 Gs root mean square (RMS) error.

The device ensures data reliability during operation with embedded continuous built-in-test for critical applications. The Pulse-40 requires no periodic maintenance, and offers accelerated aging that guarantees that the sensor behavior is stable over time.

The tactical-grade Pulse 40 can replace older generation fiber optic gyros (FOGs), or can be integrated into small payloads due to its small size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP).
