Key Highlights

  • Next‑generation military and advanced airborne platforms require vapor‑barrier RF cable assemblies to protect signal integrity against moisture, fuels, chemicals, and extreme environmental stress.
  • Vapor‑barrier technology helps extend service life, reduce maintenance demands, and ensure reliable performance in critical systems such as radar, electronic warfare, avionics upgrades, and MRO.
  • Discover the HUBER+SUHNER SUCOFLIGHT™ 100 series, a new portfolio of hermetically sealed, MIL‑qualified RF coaxial cable assemblies engineered specifically for harsh airborne and defense applications.

The future of military aviation is complex and ever-evolving.

Emerging markets such as space, supersonics, hypersonics, and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) have grown more than ever before, and are poised to change the aerial landscape for aerospace and defense in the coming years. But what these markets will need is exceptional signal integrity and performance under the most strenuous atmospheric changes.

Military aircraft go through rapid acceleration, temperature, pressure, and altitude changes. When they perform under these most challenging conditions, there is a risk of ingress of water vapor, fuels, oils, chemicals, and other hazardous contaminants. Any of these alone, or in combination, could lead to performance decay, downtime, and cable degradation over time. This in turn means increased maintenance, repair, overhaul, and overall costs to operate.

A vapor barrier that’s built within coaxial assemblies on board the aircraft can provide the protection and moisture ingress prevention needed.

Introducing the HUBER+SUHNER SUCOFLIGHTTM 100 series

The SUCOFLIGHT™ 100 series from HUBER+SUHNER is an all-new portfolio of hermetically sealed and MIL-qualified vapor-barrier radio frequency (RF) coaxial assemblies. Specifically designed and engineered for military, airborne, and other demanding applications, the SUCOFLIGHT™ 100 series of cable assemblies from HUBER+SUHNER is a vital cable solution for critical airborne applications.

Vapor barriers can restrict access to all manner of contaminants in-flight, from water vapor in all forms, to jet fuel and propellants, chemical bodies, etc. These cable assembles can be invaluable in airframe, active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, electronic warfare pods, avionic upgrades, and MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) applications.

Available as two variant coaxial assemblies, SUCOFLIGHT™ 123 and SUCOFLIGHT™ 134, these new solutions are MIL-qualified (MIL-T-81490) and available with standardized connector entries with field-replaceable connector interface heads, offering interchangeability between different cables.

Features and benefits of the SUCOFLIGHTTM 100 series

This series of RF coaxial assemblies features the following:

  • Operational longevity in severe environmental conditions
  • VLN interface that provides a hermetic transition from cable to field replaceable connector heads
  • Low insertion loss and outstanding shielding effectiveness
  • All connectors designed with safety wire holes

Benefits of the SUCOFLIGHT™ 100 series also include:

  • MIL-T-81490 qualified for the rigors of harsh military air applications
  • High voltage rating for high peak power applications (through a specialized wedge feature design on VLN interface)
  • End-to-end expertise at HUBER+SUHNER for a one-stop shop experience
