The amplifier offers ease of operation, robust design, and compact footprint within the 2-to-20 GHz range with as much as 20 Watts of output power.

MUNICH – Rohde & Schwarz in Munich is introducing the R&SSAM100 microwave amplifier for design validation of passive and active microwave components and microwave devices for mobile radio, Internet of Things, satellite communications (SATCOM) and radar applications.

The amplifier offers ease of operation, robust design, and compact footprint within the 2-to-20 GHz range with as much as 20 Watts of output power. The device also is for electromagnetic compatibility test and measurement of signals as high as 18 GHz.

The amplifier "offers a unique approach with its combination of output power, high bandwidth and low noise," says Wolfram Titze, director of amplifier product management and sales support at Rohde & Schwarz. "Especially when used as compact desktop version with external power supply, SAM100 allows users to bring the RF-power where it is needed."

The SAM100 RF and microwave amplifier features high gain with low noise at linearity makes the unit suitable for AM, FM, PM, and OFDM applications. "With increased demand for mobile radio and IoT devices, this amplifier is proving to be a big asset in bringing products to market faster," Titze says.
