Rohde & Schwarz in Columbia, Md., is introducing the Integrated Measurement System (IMS), a compact instrument that provides elements necessary to perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing from 9 kHz to 3 GHz in a desktop or 19-inch rack-mount instrument. It replaces conventional solutions that consume large amounts of space, require multiple instruments, and are difficult to configure and operate, company officials say. It is for evaluating EMC compliance with commercial, military, and automotive standards, as well as for product precertification. The IMS includes a signal source, power meter, and optional spectrum analyzer. The IMS also includes control and switching of as many as three outboard amplifiers. The IMS allows customer-preferred external components such as amplifiers, transducers, and antennas. With the addition of the company’s ESCI or ESPI test receivers, the IMS also supports electromagnetic interference (EMI) measurements. The integrated signal source provides AM, FM, pulse, and phase modulation. For more information contact Rohde & Schwwarz online at www.rohde-schwarz.com/USA
