HARRISON, Maine, 27 May 2007. The management of Strategy X Inc., a global risk mitigation specialist, is pursuing vertical markets in the 2007 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP).

The HSGP program will award more than $1.6 billion to enhance the ability of states, territories, and urban areas to prepare for, prevent, and respond to terrorist attacks and other major disasters. Included on the list are those administered by the Office of Domestic Preparedness (ODP), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Strategy X is pursuing the DHS Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP), which awards roughly $445 million for state, local, and private industry infrastructure protection initiatives.

Other Federal agency programs include the Department of Health and Human Services' public health preparedness grants, Department of Justice grants for counter-terrorism and general-purpose law enforcement activities, and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants for enhancing the security of our Nation's water supplies. The Department of Homeland Security merges all agencies under one roof the capability to anticipate, preempt, and deter threats to the homeland whenever possible, and the ability to respond quickly when such threats do materialize.

Another vertical market that Strategy X Inc. is continuing to pursue is the Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology division.

The Department's Homeland Security Centers of Excellence (HS-Centers) bring together the nation's best experts and focus its most talented researchers on a variety of threats that include agricultural, chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological, explosive and cyber terrorism, as well as the behavioral aspects of terrorism.

Strategy X Inc. applies scientific reliability studies and modeling and simulation to test and evaluate existing physical security systems, conceptual systems, and final security system designs.
