RIDGECREST, Calif., 7 June 2013. U.S. Navy aerial weapons experts are looking to five electronics distributors to complete for the opportunity to supply a wide variety of high-reliability electronic components for aerial weapons deployment, research, and development for military planes.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station in Ridgecrest, Calif., is establishing a fund as large as $9.3 million for which the five companies will complete over the next five years to provide electronic components for Navy aircraft weapons.
The companies are:
Pacific IC Source (www.pacificic.com) in Yucaipa, Calif.;
LC Engineers Inc. (http://lcengineers.com) in Rahway, N.J.;
Laguna Components Inc. (www.lagunacomponents.com) in Laguna Beach, Calif.;
Impact Components (www.impactcomponents.com) in San Diego; and
JRH Electronics LLC (www.jrhelec.com) in Marlton, N.J.
These companies will compete through June 2018 to supply the Naval Air Warfare Center with integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, connectors, wire braid, diodes, flex circuits, switches, back shells, heat-shrinkable sleeving, other sleeving, field-effect transistors, encoders, transistors, power supplies, flash chips, potentiometers, RF electronic sub-assemblies, receivers, semiconductors, plugs, global positioning system components, terminal blocks, antennas, inertial measurement units, fuses, relays, transducers, switches, power-cables, receptacles, oscilloscopes, and drying cabinets.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division at China Lake supports Naval Air Systems Command with research, development, test, and evaluation, logistics, and in-service support for guided missiles, free-fall weapons, targets, support equipment, crew systems and electronic warfare.
The group also integrates weapons and avionics on tactical aircraft; operates the Navy’s western land and sea range test and evaluation complex; and develops new technologies for Navy aircraft missiles and weapons. The five electronics distributors will compete for separate task orders.
