Cyber shield to protect air surveillance radars launched by ThalesRaytheonSystems

FULLERTON, Calif., 27 June 2013. ThalesRaytheonSystems in Fullerton, Calif., is introducing the CybAIR RadBox to protect air surveillance radar against cyber attack and detect intrusions that could disrupt air operations.

Co-located with the radar, CybAIR RadBox is designed for civil and military airspace surveillance systems. It monitors operational data, alerts the user if the radar behaves abnormally, performs technical and operational supervision roles and enables operators to visualize the operational consequences of a cyber attack.

It can detect any kind of cyber attack, including zero-day incursions that exploit an unknown vulnerability in the system, and insider assault on a protected network.

Services and tools are available to update protections, train users, and conduct investigations during and after an attack. CybAIR RadBox complements conventional system and network protection solutions and is fully interoperable with operational security centers.

CybAIR RadBox is undergoing operational evaluation by the French air force and the French defense procurement agency (DGA) at the CDEVS1 testing center in Mont-de-Marsan, France.

CybAIR RadBox is part of the CybAIR Vision range of solutions designed by ThalesRaytheonSystems to detect any type of abnormal system behavior in radars, networks and air traffic control and air command centers.
