BALTIMORE, 11 Nov. 2011. TEK Microsystems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing the Calypso-V6 12-bit digitizer 6U VME or VXS embedded computing board with high-density field-programmable gate array (FPGA) processing for defense, intelligence, and industrial applications such as command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR), signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and radar. Tekmicro made the announcement this week at the AFCEA MILCOM conference and trade show in Baltimore, which highlights technologies in military communications and embedded computing.
BALTIMORE, 11 Nov. 2011. TEK Microsystems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing the Calypso-V6 12-bit digitizer 6U VME or VXSembedded computing board with high-density field-programmable gate array (FPGA) processing for defense, intelligence, and industrial applications such as command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR), signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and radar. Tekmicro made the announcement this week at the AFCEA MILCOM conference and trade show in Baltimore, which highlights technologies in military communications and embedded computing. The Calypso-V6 is the latest member of the Tekmicro QuiXilica family, and supports either two 12-bit analog-to-digital converter channels at 3.6 gigasamples per second or six channels at 1.8 gigasamples per second. The device is compatible with legacy VME and VITA 41 VXS systems in ultra-wideband A/D converter signal acquisition applications.Calypso-V6 is based on the National Semiconductor ADC12D1800RF A/D converter, which supports either a pair of channels in non-interleaved mode or a single channel using 2:1 interleaved sampling. Calypso-V6 contains four A/D converters, supporting six channels plus trigger at 1.8 gigasamples per second or two channels plus trigger at 3.6 gigasamples per second.

The converters provide 12-bit resolution and full power bandwidth to 2.7 GHz, which enables systems designers to use Calypso-V6 as a 3.6-gigasample-per-second converter for 1st Nyquist applications, or as a high density multichannel building block for lower bandwidth applications using either 1st or 2nd Nyquist sampling.
