Solid-state power amplifier for EW, radar, and communications introduced by Comtech PST
MELVILLE, N.Y., 4 April 2014. Comtech PST Corp. in Melville, N.Y., is introducing the model BME69189-20 solid-state power amplifier module for electronic warfare (EW), radar, and communications systems where space, cooling, and power are limited.
The gallium nitride (GaN)-based BME69189-20 high-power-density solid-state RF and microwave module operates from 6 to 18 GHz at 20 Watts. It offers ultra wideband operation, high efficiency, full power across its entire bandwidth, is rugged and reliable, has low harmonic distortion, and is compact and lightweight.
The power electronics device has 41 decibel gain at 20 Watts; maximum 10 dBm RF input overdrive; voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 2.0:1 maximum, and comes with built-in test for composite fault indication, over current fault, and over temperature fault.
The RF amplifier has a 7-in combination D DC control interface, a 28-volt DC input power, operates at 15 Watts standby, operates in temperatures at the baseplate of -40 to 55 degrees Celsius, and meets MIL-STD-810 for resistance to shock and vibration.
The device measures 6.56 by 3.5 by 0.84 inches and weighs 1.4 pounds. For more information contact Comtech PST online at www.comtechpst.com.
