Boeing has developed a UAV concept for refueling U.S. Navy fighter jets in midair. The unmanned carrier-based airborne tanker prototype, dubbed MQ-25A Stingray, is Boeing's response to the Navy's request for proposals. It could deliver about 15,000 pounds of fuel 500 nautical miles out from an aircraft carrier, which could provide an extra 300 to 400 miles of flight range to fighter jets such as the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler, and Lockheed Martin F-35C.
