QinetiQ North America wins Army STOC II contract

MCLEAN, Va., 4 Mar. 2009. QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group has won a Simulation and Training Omnibus Contract (STOC II) from the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI).

MCLEAN, Va., 4 Mar. 2009.QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group has won a Simulation and Training Omnibus Contract (STOC II) from the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI).

STOC II is a multiple-award IDIQ (indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity) contract with a ceiling of $17.5 billion over 10 years (base plus three ordering period options).

Awardees of STOC II, including QinetiQ North America, are eligible to bid on individual task orders released by the Army and other Department of Defense agencies over the 10-year life of the contract.

"This award gives QinetiQ North America the opportunity to continue developing and providing a wide range of innovative technological solutions to the U.S. Army," says Dr. William Ribich, president of the Technology Solutions Group. "We will continue to support the military with our unmanned vehicles, precision air delivery systems, physiological monitoring, innovative counter-sniper technologies, advanced rotary wing training modeling and simulation, serious gaming, and augmented reality.

"As we expand further into the live-virtual-constructive training, and modeling and simulation markets, we will also take the opportunity to introduce technologies and 'lessons learned' from our parent company, QinetiQ, which manages all training ranges for the U.K. Ministry of Defence," Ribich continues.
