    Strap-on autonomous kit turns ground vehicles into UGVs in under four hours

Engineers at kairos autonomi in Sandy, Utah, were demonstrating their Pronto4 Agnostic Autonomy System that converts ground vehicles and surface vessels from forklifts to trucks into unmanned systems at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) show in Denver.

Engineers at kairos autonomi in Sandy, Utah, were demonstrating their Pronto4 Agnostic Autonomy System that converts ground vehicles and surface vessels from forklifts to trucks into unmanned systems at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) show in Denver.The kit, which is very eas to use can transform any vehicle into an autonomous one in four hours, says Troy Takach, president and chief executive officer of kairos autonomi. The system fits under the hood or behind the driver's seat and made with a modular design to make it platform independent, he adds.It has three module types -- computer, services, and utility, according to the Pronto4 data sheet. It is also submersible and meets MIL-STD-810F. Autonomy ranges from tele-operation to a semi-autonomy unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).The kairos autonomi systems are also quite rugged, Tkach says, having survived intact Army explosion tests that help military engineers test the survivability of a vehicle hit by a roadside bomb.
