General Dynamics chooses wireless networking from Persistent Systems for unmanned vehicles streaming video

NEW YORK – Unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) experts at General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) in Sterling Heights, Mich., needed ad-hoc wireless networking for a variety of military UGVs. They found their solution from Persistent Systems LLC in New York City.

Persistent Systems has announced that GDLS has joined the Persistent Systems-led Wave Relay Ecosystem.

GDLS will incorporate Persistent's Wave Relay mobile ad hoc network (MANET) technology into the company's Multi-Utility Tactical Transport (MUTT) UGV via the MPU5 smart radio. The Wave Relay MANET will be the data link for command and control, payload control, and HD streaming video.

The Wave Relay Ecosystem is an alliance of industry-leading companies using Wave Relay MANET radios in their products. GDLS's MUTT platform will work seamlessly with all other Wave Relay MANET-enabled products, connecting all warfighters to every system and sensor on the network.
