Summary

Today's commercial space applications are increasing demand for radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant electronics components to help spacecraft delivering reconnaissance, telecommunications, and streaming video survive in the harsh radiation environment of space for as long as possible.

In this price-sensitive market, the question is how much radiation tolerance is too much, and how much is not enough? Millions of dollars are at stake if modern commercial satellite constellations suffer unanticipated on-orbit failures.

During this online panel discussion, industry experts will discuss radiation hardness issues for New Space applications, the economics of commercial rad-hard, and the consequences of on-orbit failures, with an eye to today's most promising enabling technologies.
