Helicopter simulation framework released by Presagis at I/ITSEC

Presagis announced HeliScene, a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) helicopter mission and operation rehearsal application framework that provides flexibility and open turnkey options for researchers, pilots, and trainees. Presagis announced HeliScene, a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) helicopter mission and operation rehearsal application framework that provides flexibility and open turnkey options for researchers, pilots, and trainees. Presagis made the announcement this week at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, Fla. HeliScene combines off-the-shelf software and hardware components to get users up and flying quickly. Presagis COTS software, including Lyra IG, HeliSIM, and STAGE, forms the foundation of the simulation solution. Other components delivered in the package include display calibration and blending software, a helicopter seat and controls, high performance projectors, and a curved screen. Several sample databases and helicopter simulation models are also provided out-of-the-box.Open and flexible, the potential add-on options of HeliScene have virtually no application limits enabling end users to add capabilities and customize HeliScene as required by their training needs, Presagis officials say."We continue to strive to integrate our COTS solutions to provide cost conscious users with ready-to-use platforms that offer true-to-life simulation at a price point that is accessible to the broadest array of potential users," says Guillaume Hervé, president, Presagis. "This approach is critical in the fast growing helicopter market and, with the introduction of HeliScene, both civilian and military organizations are able to take advantage of a COTS-based solution that empowers them to develop and deliver an effective research tool as well as immersive, scenario-based training."HeliScene will be offered at an introductory promotion price for $355,000. Pricing may vary depending on software and hardware packaging options selected. Promotional pricing in effective until March 31, 2011.
