Boeing officials select Rockwell Collins Large-Format Flight Displays for 737 MAX
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 16 Nov. 2012. Boeing officials selected Rockwell Collins to provide large-format flight displays as standard equipment on the 737 MAX flight deck, entering into a multi-year agreement with the company.
The new flight deck includes four configurable 15.1-inch landscape LCDs, increasing pilot situational awareness and efficiency.
“Airlines will benefit from the increased real estate and dramatically enhanced visuals of these displays which will serve as the foundation for NextGen airspace technologies entering the marketplace,” says Kent Statler, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Commercial Systems at Rockwell Collins.
Boeing also tapped Rockwell Collins’ flight display technology for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The displays in this new 737 MAX flight deck are also featured on the Boeing KC-46 Tanker and as a retrofit for existing 757 and 767 aircraft.
Boeing has received orders for more than nine hundred 737 MAX aircraft. First delivery of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with Rockwell Collins’ flight displays is expected in 2017.
