Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to deliver Elbit Systems airborne laser designators to Asia-Pacific customers

HAIFA, Israel. Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ:ESLT) in Haifa, Israel, won roughly $35 million in contracts from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., also in Haifa, to supply airborne laser designators over a three-year period. Rafael will deliver the aircraft systems to two countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

(NASDAQ:ESLT) in Haifa, Israel, won roughly $35 million in contracts from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., also in Haifa, to supply airborne laser designators over a three-year period. Rafael will deliver the aircraft systems to two countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The miniaturized laser systems provide aircrews with force multiplying capabilities, for a precise target designation and a rapid closure of the sensor to shooter cycle.

Elbit Systems' laser designators are optimized for size, weight, and power (SWaP), making them well suited for ground and airborne systems.

“Elbit Systems has years of experience in developing advanced electro optic systems including highly accurate and powerful laser designators in particular,” says Elad Aharonson, general manager of Elbit Systems' ISTAR Division. “The contracts reaffirm Elbit Systems' commitment to the Asia-Pacific market and to its investments in local industries."
