Garmin releases South American navigation data for avionics systems

WICHITA, Kan. -- Garmin International is introducing a database offering navigational coverage of South America for its avionics systems as part of a new update.

WICHITA, Kan. -- Garmin International is introducing a database offering navigational coverage of South America for its avionics systems as part of a new update.

The data adds to Garmin's "Americas OnePak", which already includes North and Central America.

The package includes information including instrument procedures, frequencies and airport data.

"This expanded coverage offers pilots a cost-effective alternative that can be packaged with other databases to provide pilots with all of the information they need in a single aircraft for an entire year, at one low price," said Carl Wolf, vice president of aviation marketing and sales.

Garmin's navigation database and OnePaks are compatible with a number of certified avionics systems, including the:

GTN 650/760;
GNS 430W/530W;
G500 TXi/G600 TXi/G700 TXi/G500H TXi;
G500/G600/G500H;
G1000, G1000 NXi, G2000, G3000, G5000, G1000H and G5000H;
G3X, G3X Touch and G900X;
aera 660;
aera 795/796;
aera 500; and
GPSMAP 696.
