Powered by the signal it measures, the SSAM-N was designed without any critical digital assets such as microprocessors to avoid vulnerabilities to cybersecurity attacks.

TUCSON, Ariz., - A form, fit and function replacement for the analog DB40 and VS252 meters, Otek introduces the SSAM-N as part of its New Technology Series of digital panel meters. Capitalizing on easy to install Plug & Play technology, the SSAM-N is designed to replace virtually any 4inch ANSI meter without requiring the surrounding panel and wiring to be changed or removed, and with only minimal training for its operators.

Powered by the signal it measures, the SSAM-N was designed without any critical digital assets such as microprocessors to avoid vulnerabilities to cybersecurity attacks. By using CMOS logic to power the instrument and a receivable analog input signal, the SSAM-N successfully functions as a digital meter while avoiding expenses related to cybersecurity protection incurred by the mandates of NEI 08-09.

An instrument powered 100% by the signal, the SSAM-9 can handle inputs of 4-20/10-50mA current loops, V/A, AC/DC, Watts and Hertz, and may also be externally powered. Highlight features of the SSAM-9 include a 4 ½ digit LED display at 0.1% accuracy, SPDT SSR or Reed relays, optional isolated H.V. SPDT dual alarms for enunciator panel lamps, and a signal failure alarm that warns the operator in the event of a signal or power loss for approximately one minute. Like all Otek products, the SSAM-9 is warranted for the lifetime of the instrument.
