DGCA orders probe after Air Arabia flight's engine failure, emergency landing in Ahmedabad

A team from the DGCA, Mumbai office, in consultation with the AAIB is being sent to Ahmedabad for preliminary investigation, the aviation watchdog stated, Hindustan Times reports.

CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh - The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday ordered an investigation after an Air Arabia flight, travelling from Chittagong in Bangladesh to Abu Dhabi in the UAE, on Monday made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport after the pilot declared 'Mayday', suffering an engine failure, Hindustan Times reports. Continue reading original article.

9 June 2022 - According to a DGCA statement, the Air Arabia flight 3L-062, operating on Airbus A320, experienced No.1 Engine stall on Monday and subsequently, the engine fail ECAM warnings came on as a result of which the crew declared "mayday" and immediately diverted to Ahmedabad. The aircraft landed safely at Ahmedabad, the DGCA said.
