15 December 2023 - Ampaire believes the flight establishes a new record for hybrid electric aircraft endurance with a total flight time of 12 hours exactly and over 2 hours of fuel and battery reserves remaining.
The EEL demonstrator aircraft has shown advanced high-powered electronics, inverters, motors, and associated systems. The aircraft has served as the backbone for Ampaire's AMP-H570 AMP Drive hybrid electric propulsion unit currently flying in Ampaire’s Eco Caravan, which has achieved a remarkable 50 to 70 percent reduction in fuel consumption and emissions compared to traditional Pratt & Whitney PT6 turboprop engines.
