What is the goal of the Vertical-Aciturri partnership? Aciturri will manufacture the airframe for Vertical’s VX4 eVTOL aircraft, supporting both pre-production and, pending certification, production units.
What components will Aciturri provide? Aciturri will supply the full airframe, including wing, empennage, pylons, and fuselage, and also support structural engineering and manufacturing processes.
What is the VX4 aircraft? The VX4 is a piloted electric VTOL aircraft designed to carry four passengers with zero operating emissions; a hybrid-electric version is also in development.
BRISTOL, England - Vertical Aerospace has entered a long-term partnership with Aciturri Aerostructures to produce the airframe for its electric and hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, the VX4.
Under the agreement, Spain-based Aciturri will supply the full airframe, including wing, empennage, pylons, and fuselage for both pre-production and, subject to certification, production VX4 aircraft. Aciturri will also provide engineering support for structural components and oversee manufacturing engineering for the program, aiming to support scalable and efficient VX4 production.
The VX4 is a piloted, four-passenger eVTOL aircraft with zero operating emissions and is designed for urban and regional mobility. A hybrid-electric variant is also in development to support extended-range operations.

Commercial experience
Aciturri brings nearly five decades of experience in commercial aerospace programs, having built major structures for aircraft including the Airbus A320, Boeing 737, and Embraer KC-390. The company has also supported eVTOL development efforts for Eve Air Mobility and Lilium.
Vertical recently completed its first airport-to-airport flights and expanded a separate partnership with Honeywell in Phoenix to supply the VX4’s flight control and management systems. The company reports approximately 1,500 pre-orders for the VX4 from customers, including American Airlines, Japan Airlines, GOL, and Bristow.
Vertical says the partnership with Aciturri supports its Flightpath 2030 strategy, which focuses on long-lead part procurement and readiness for certification and production of its aircraft platform.
